If you think energy-saving compact florescent bulbs are too costly, wait until you find out the cost to operate an incandescent bulb for a year!

I recently ran across an interesting web site with a number of videos and photographs of the Corbin Sparrow. The Sparrow is the ancestor of the NmG, a highway legal electric vehicle produced and sold by Myers Motors. The web site is www.yellowmotors.com, although the page says the address will soon be www.mysparrowev.com. If you are a Sparrow or NmG fan, it is worth a visit!

Sometime last summer I came up with the idea that I'd like to live for a few weeks on only solar cooked food. I'm not sure of the motivation for this other than simply to prove that it can be done. For those that don't already know, I live in Pennsylvania, which isn't exactly the sunshine capital of the world. However, I now have three solar ovens, so when a sunny day comes along, I can cook a lot of food quickly. Here are the rules I've established for myself:

Electrically operated automobiles are amongst the earliest vehicles, and are more energy efficient than all the conventional vehicles that use ICE (internal combustion engine) technology. Fortunately, for us the electric car doesn’t produce any exhaust fumes, and causes minimal or no pollution even if it charges from most renewable forms of energy. Besides this, these ‘green’ or ‘hybrid’ cars are capable of reducing our dependence on traditional fuels, while helping to mitigate global warming by providing relief from the greenhouse effect.
